2 xl 12s would probably laugh at 3.5k but it would be a sick setup no doubt i would start with one 3.5k then upgrade to another later on down the road when i got the electrical in line and to answer your other question it does 3.5k at 14.4

my town is about to hear of DC too hopefully i can start my build soon

sounds like to me that you have the subs wired too low of an impedance for the amp as someone has stated before but i cant be for sure without looking at it myself
-
adding more wood to the inside of the port shouldnt change the volume of the box because the total volume of the port is calculated by the outside dimensions but yes it will lower the tuning by decreasing port area just make sure you have enough port area per foot which by the calc you are a little low and it will probably cause port noise hope that helps

why not just get a rca bass knob? its a lot easier and instead of get a bunch of different amps why dont you just get 1 big amp or 2 big amps?
more amps means more money....
the amps alone will cost more to buy 6 smaller amps then a couple big ones .... the wire is gonna cost more, your gonna need more power to run the amps.....imho its not worth it
going by what prices i have access to 2 3500s is $100 less than 6 1500s and the smaller amps would make the power more efficiently i have wire and ill be sure to work on the electrical because either way im going to have to beef it up ALOT
what subs are you putting these on?
I haven't decided yet maybe dc lvl4s lvl3s sundown z or sa all in 15s of course

thats true, but i suppose if you were using the setup for competition only it could be ok. as for the different tolerences for different amps i believe fosgate has a solution for that. a little ol thing called bdsync
wrong. thats for strapping 2 amps, not 6. we can list tons of amps you can strap but that means nothing here.
yeah i knew about strapping but i didnt think so many amps can be strapped together
-
i think im going to be using all sundown amps either 6 1500s or 2 3500s everything is still in the air at this point
-
no, they can not all be tied in together let alone have some turn on and off. amps are not made exactly the same. every part has a tolerance, usually 5-10%. i would imagine there would be delays in the sine waves and the subs would be taking "steps". thats my theory at least.
a secondary problem is that amps that are left off but still given input voltage tend to fail over time.
this answers my question thanks
looks like ill just have to use the volume knob like everyone else
-
if the amps had 6 channels then yea. other than that i dont see it happening. maybe if you had like 2 subs with high power handling and like 2,4, or 6 amps.
im confused
like 6, 6channel amps?
-
-
scenario:
running 6 amps and 6 subs be able to turn off say 3 amps and still play all 6 subs without problems
-
this might be really stupid but is there a way to wire multiple amps "together" so as to power a load but be able to turn one or some of the amps off like if all the remote wires were ran on switches to the battery instead of the HU and then when you wanted more power you could just turn the others on
dont rape me im just curious
-
ya its getting a full xcab wall. i think ima stick to just 3. id like to do 4 but ima play it safe and cheaper and run 3. plus its a daily system so surely 3 18s and 3500rms should be enuff.
one thing you will learn very fast is its never enough you always want more eventually
everyone does

this is what i was thinking for a box and i left the bracing blank cause i dont know what a good estimate should be or how much bracing i should use
-
ive recently been thinking about maybe lvl4s or even 3s to save on money and it would be cheaper to power them
-
i wonder how many 12 year old kids ruined their familys vcr by ripping it apart
-
how would sundown compare to aq or ascendant in price i REALLY am anal about having matching stuff
DC 3.5k
in DC Sound Lab - Big Bass on ANOTHER LEVEL!

personally i would go with DC over AQ and ive heard that they can beat the AQ price![:peepwall:](//www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png)
