Got mine installed today! It's a freakin BEAST! Thanks Rusty!

I am so excited! (and nervous)
Here is a good shot I took of my brother holding it. He has the fever now!
I can't wait to get it in there tomorrow and see how she does...
-
Got a little something today. Well, it's not exactly little...
This is the firs bass knob I have ever had that goes counter-clockwise. Pretty cool, but I'll have to get used to it
Yeah it's on now! More to come...

the other day at a comp i managed to pull just under 3k out of my 5k in the Chevy w it wired at .7 ohm and just over a 2 ohm box rise...so thats just about 3 ohm and pulling 29XX so just under 3k...not bad
Damn, so I probably want to try to wire @3 ohms then, cause I don't think my subs will like 3K very much...
Thanks man, and those are some nice numbers! I can't wait to get some bail-outs, like you did in the Durango!
Probably be a min before I can do that though...
what subs do you have and how many? also that 3k is being put out at me wired at .7 ohm if you wire at 3 ohm your going to still get box rise and maybe only get 800-1000 watts out of that amp.
3 12" L5's - (600rms each) in a 7.5^3ft box tuned @33hz. My only other option is to wire down to 1.34, what do you think about that? Too much, or just right after rise?
I know, shitty subs for such a good amp. But this is just till I get my 18's
Thanks again man I really appreciate the help!

Help please this is not making sense to me.
I may be wrong, but it looked like you had the subwoofer turned off on the HU? Probably has nothing to do w it, but if I turn mine off, it won't pick up the signal.. Hope this helps, or you figure it all out!

Thanks guys for all your help!
Guess what is "On FedEx vehicle for delivery"?

if you car about the subs and dont want to risk blowing them run at 3 ohms. if you are a real bass head run at 1.34
Lol That is the perfect answer! I think I'll try 3ohms first, then if that ain't good enough, I will wire down. Thanks for the laugh!
-
Cool, so should I wire my subs up to 3(before rise) or leave them wired @1.34? I get my amp tomorrow, is the reason I ask.
They are 3 12" L5's rated @600rms each.
And electric is so so right now, got a MLA and a 200 amp alt, but kinda low on the batts, w only 2 Kinetics
(But I'll watch it VERY CLOSLY!)
And just in case anyone is wondering, this amp was bought to run 2 18" DC XL's, but I won't own them for a min. So...
Thanks again guys!

I was just wondering if anyone knows about what kind of power a DC 5K will do @3 ohm? I figured about 1500 - 2K, that sound about right?
Thanks

"its fucking big!!"
:yahoo:
That's what she said...
Mine should be here tomorrow

Man I listen to a lot of rock and rap, IMO just build a box tuned @35 and you will be fine. Does your amp have a bass knob? If so, that is all you need. When I play rock all I gotta do is adjust the bass knob and I'm good to go! Hope that helps, good luck!

Just design and build it yourself. You will feel so much more pride when showing it off knowing that you done it all. This is the perfect one to start with as well, small enclosure with a single driver. Just decide where you want it to go and do as chrislun said, L"xW"xH"/1728 don't forget to account for speaker and port displacement. I think Sundown is recommending 12"^2 for port area.
Yes, this X2!
If you have problems figuring something out with the Torres calculator, someone will help you. And that will still be considered your design. And he is right, it feels so good to come up w a design yourself, then build it, then see and hear the results. Now is the best time to learn, and like I say, if you need it, we will help!

2 more days according to FedEx. I can't freakin wait!
-
Hell yeah, and just in time too!
Can't wait to see that sexy ass 5K in my car!
-
i cant really get the hang of winISD so i was thinking of maybe 12 to 13 net cubes with around 15 to 16 in2 per 1 foot of port do you think that would be any better
Yes I do! But I'd keep it similar in style to what you designed. It's a good one

Pics?
Edit: Damn ninja

Same here, I never pay any attention till Feb. anyway!

With a salvage title the car will have zero resale value, just keep that in mind.
Wrong, the loan value of a salvage auto is 80%, meaning it does have some resale value, just not the same as a clear title.
You would be surprised how many cars out there are salvage title.
A lot of times, it may be minimal damage, but the insurance totals it out cause it cost more to fix than what they consider it to be worth.

Port area per foot may be a lil low... I thought a 15 likes around 16"^2 per cu foot, but then again, who am I?
Otherwise looks nice! Should get down @31.5hz tuning
Thanks Rusty :)
