  1. I hope I don't catch too much heat for this, but I was wondering if someone could explain the Resonance Frequency(Fs) of a speaker, as well as the Total Q-Factor(Qts). :noob: < Me

I always just assumed that the Fs was the lowest tuning frequency, and Qts I honestly have no idea. But I'd really like to know, and yes I know Google is free, but I'd like to get an explanation from someone on here that will be easily understood. Thanks for your help and patients! :drinks:

I have for sale a LoadBoss 190 amp high output alternator for a 2000-2004 Chrysler PT Cruiser 2.4L. It has been used for about 9 months and recently repaired by LoadBoss. Has a new voltage regulator. I paid well over $300 for this alt, it puts out over 100 amps at idle! It is a very nice upgrade from the factory alt, which only puts out about 50 amps at idle. I am selling because I am stepping up to a dual alt set-up for a much bigger build.

This alt is in 100% PERFECT WORKING CONDITION!

Asking $200 shipped to 48 cont. states.

    ***Now on sale ***$175 shipped!***

Pm for price out of US.

  3. I'd like to see the 4 Lv4 18 build! Can't imagine that in a PT Cruiser :) I don't see a Lv5 18 being louder than 4 Lv4 18s, but I'm retarded so idk.

But if you want a Lv5 18 hmu.

Thanks man, I have all but completely decided against the level 5.

Now it's pretty much down to 2 - XL18's or 4 - level 4-18's. But if I go XL I could still add 2 more later on another 5K??? Also, 4 - lvl4's will cost me more than 2 XL's right now, but I really do want to do the 4 18's in the PT. Cause yeah it will be sic!!! But just knowing myself, I am gonna want another 5K later on. Guess I could put 2 - 5K's on 4 - level 4's, maybe if they are built w/ level 5 parts?????

AS you can see, I am deep in thought on this subject! Thanks for your help! :drinks:

  4. Seriously though, can you blame him? These are mods that must be installed by cutting into the wire harness. How could he possibly tell if a customer hooks it up right? I think it's cool, MLA is just 2 guys doing this cause they can. I doubt they could afford to pay out for all the mistakes that could be made. But I know people on here that have had good luck w them, and I'll let u know soon how it works out for me on a Chrysler. :drinks:

    15+ volts FTW :clapping:

  5. mr p had 4 lvl 4s in a 4th order then he switched to 5s and was stupid loud. why not just do xls? then you can have a loud musical sub

XL's are the one I keep coming back to. Maybe get 2 - XL18's for my 5k now, and 2 more later for another 5k?

If I do that then I could do a traditional wall for the 2 for now, but build it so that later I could just remove the baffle to rebuild as a 4th order???

I need to hear the XL's in person. I have never heard them or Level 5's in person to be honest. Oh and thanks for the feedback! :drinks:

  6. Okay, so for the past several months I have been planning my rebuild, and I recently pre-ordered a new DC5.0K. Now I'm just trying to decide what I want to do for subs. I asked this same question about a SMD and got a very good response, so now I want to know the same thing about a DC level 5. I don't really know much about them except they are BEASTY SPL oriented subs.

So my question is, in your opinion, how would a single 18" level 5 do in a properly designed 4th order, with a 5.0K seeing proper electric? Is this a "bad idea"?

My thought was, if I did the sub inverted in a 4th order, I could possibly still get all the potential from the level 5, and help it see all it's SQ potential. If this is wrong, please tell me why? And thank you for you time! :drinks:

BTW - In case anyone is wondering, I am also leaning heavily on 4 - 18' level 4's, or 2 - 18" XL's. Decisions, decisions! :pardon:

  7. Don't feel bad, mine said it would be here Friday, but now it says Oct. 4th. Next effin Tuesday. Yeah, that's how I felt too. Way to get my hopes up!

Btw Steve - I shipped using USPS today, flat-rate box, and I was able to get tracking & insurance! And it wasn't too expensive, either. So Idk who told you that you couldn't ship thru them and insure and track your package, but they were wrong man. Just a fyi to maybe help save people money in the future?

Not for international orders. Domestic orders are easy and still fairly cheap even with fedex. Overseas is a whole 'nother story. I cant take that type of gamble. It could get lost, it could "fall off the truck", or the recipient could recieve it and claim he didnt......and i would be responsible. I cant have that, especially since some of these countries i cant even pronounce the address or the name......and you havent had fun till you have shipped something to Cyprus, Turkey, or even France.

what happened was, we spent an entire monday afternoon printing labels sticking them to boxes and prepping everything to go out. Its a LOT of work, a LOT of ink and a LOT of paper....took us several hours. We got them to FedEx before they closed but the actual truck that picks up their daily packages out to the next "hub" was already gone. That screwed up the tracking numbers a little.

sorry about that, at least you know where its at now. :pardon:

It's all good, and yeah I rolf when I thought about all the overseas shipping you are having to do, and not being able to even say their names! Don't feel bad, I can't say them either!

But thanks for the update, and for a making a much needed product! I'll make a vid of it in use when I get it on Tuesday. Thanks again! :drinks:

  8. There will be plenty of people to watch in the lanes. Pretty sure most of team Livewire will be there :)

Hey KB, I have been meaning to holler at you! So you gonna be there? If so, I'll see ya there. If not, let me know, and I'll look you up on Oct. 19th, next time I'm in Columbus.

Just wanted to ask you about a few things!

Oh and thegreatestpenn - Sorry, I was like "huh"? Thanks for clarifying that for me! :drinks:
