The hardened suraface such as resin will increase the tuning of your box, Im not sure about the elastomeric but I figure it wouldnt absorb any energy but actually increase it because of flex in the material but I could be totally wrong on that...

When I dropped my truck 4-6 after my box and everything it was about 8 inch drop, I added 1 leaf to each spring in the rear and a set of Gabriel Adjustable Air Shocks, and made the ride of the truck way better as a result...

The bottom brace that holds the driveshaft in the middle Tub, did they put spacers under it to lift the shaft, if not it will be a reason why the tranny failed after 2 years. On mine when we dropped it 7 in the rear we had to cut the bottom of the truck brace cause it sat on the drive shaft.
Do you get any type of shimmy's when you excelerate from a dead stop?

I would buy Mechman again. Besides read around this site and look at the difference between the two companies. One is quite arrogant and constantly puts everyone elses down; where the other one is friendly helpful and Mature. one will try to "sell" you on his alt and the other lets his product and customers speak for him. I can Vouch for Mechmans service being the best and he is pleasant as well. but it will come down to what you find appealing and of course price.
When you have a true product that is backed by the manufacturer, and as a company has probally tested most of every other alt out there with there outrageous claims usually comes up well short of what their claimed power or durabilty actually is. If I would have meet DC Power a year ago I would not have wasted my time on 2 other so called HO Alt company's sold here. Arrogance no, confidence, I think so...
