Fish Chris
Do ALL trunk subwoofer setups rattle like a beee-otch ?!?! I'm sure some of these setups might sound pretty good inside of the vehicle, but nothing sounds lousier than a bunch of sheet metal slapping against itself. If ever I was going to use my trunk as an enclosure, I think I'd fiberglass it all in, and basically make it sealed... or, if ported, the vents would be come into the cab. But is it even possible to have a couple strong subwoofers (12"s, or 15"s, or whatever) in an infinite baffle between the trunk and cab with "zero" trunk lid rattling ??? Don't know about you guys, but that would be flat out unacceptable for me..... Just curious.... Fish
OrionStang
I had a 1988 Chrysler 5th Ave. Worst rattle ever. To fix it, I rolled up bath towels and stuffed them between the trunk lid and the car. Just put them where the weather trim is and slam it shut HARD. Fixed a lot of the noise. PITA to get the trunk back open though. I think rattle is one of the most annoying things ever, at least try to handle it, ya know/ Quote SMD Super Seller My Feedback Thread

SASoanes
Fish Chris I hear you and it's true about how annoying trunk rattle is but it also depends on the vehicle manufacturer. So vehicles don't rattle at all.
KillaCam
Yeah every trunk build that ive heard at least rattled some. When I start my new build I'm sealing off the trunk and bracing it so hopefully it wont rattle much. boxman420
my trunk rattles like a biotch in my monte carlo. i do have a ported box with the port facing the back of the trunk. i tried it facing forward but it was a little quieter in side the car. but i had almost no rattles outside. my next build is gonna be 4 12s and its gonna be tuned to have the port go inside the car. and remove the rattles onn the outside. TheBetterMethod
I fixed 99% of the trunk lid rattle on my car. A couple feet of deadener and a couple cans of foam is all it took. Now I have to lay some deadener on the floor to get rid of the rest of the rattle. But I swear the trunk lid is dead quiet, even with a factory spoiler. I'll take some vids when I get the floor deadened. BeAlLsTaR13
for the most part, any trunk that has woofers firing back will have trunk rattle, basically at all times... any trunks that are firing forward sealed off with have little to non ive had both firing back and firing in, when i was firing in i had none at all, just a few things on the bottom of the car rattled, now that i went back to firing back.. EVERYTHING rattles Quote Team Sundown Audio**CURRENT** -- 2012 Scion tC Build Click Here **OLD** -- 2002 Pontiac Grand AM Build Click Herecheck them out, slap me a comment2002 Pontiac Grand AM SE 2.2l 4 cylinder ecotec.-------------------------------------------------------------------Head Unit - Alpine CDA-9887Subs - 2x Z 12 v.2s - v.3 + NS Soft partsAmplifier - Sundown Audio SAZ-3500DEnclosure - 3.33 Cubes tuned to 34.66hzFront Stage - JBL P660c 6.5" ComponentsRear Deck - Powerbass 4xl 6.5" Mid-RangeFront Stage Amplifier - Sundown Audio SAX-100.4DWires - Kicker Hyperflex 1/0, KnuKonceptz 1/0, Knu 4 and 8 Gauge, Kicker RCAsElectrical - 275 AMP DC Power H/O Alternator, XS Power S3400, XS Power D2700Videos - http://www.youtube.com/user/BeAILsTaR13-------------------------------------------------------------------
