Twostrokeking
So I see people using WinSD or something like that and they are seeing a graph of some sort? peak or something like that? what does that all mean? and why is my bass louder with the windows down? with the windows up it sounds dry and not as loud. How can I fix it? why does it do that? jnizzle
I dont necessarily have a solution, in my old tundra i had the same problem. Curious what other people say.. Its the smaller access cab trucks that do this because of not enough room to resonate?
JWBryant
I know exactly what you are talking about with the windows, it has to be at least twice as loud with them down. When theyre up it sounds just horrible. Basshead-in-Training
Freshman6969
im in for lulz but who ever may try to explain and fail, id love to hear you adress why its louder with say the drivers window down and the pass up, thus making it louder to the pass. side although i do see CJ creeping he might be able to adress it knowlagably Legal TL scores145.6 on the dash sealed up in the low 40hz area with the port out145.5 on the dash sealed up @30hz with the port inless then 1k clamped on a 3.5k! Jessica
It's sounds louder with windows down because there is less air pressure on the front side of the subs so there is more excursion. Think of your vehicle like a huge 4th order enclouse with the car being the sealed part of the box. or maybe i am wrong/. HunterJohnson
simple put its like porting vs sealed. windows down ported, up sealed. Ported more air flows more movement more sounds. sealed is less. this is very generalized Scion tC SQ BuildiPad mini, lots of fabrication, daily drivenFord Explorer C Pillar Wall Build Just a cheap car to destroy with bass
AMI CUSTOMS
Then why do you meter louder with the window up on the meter side? But in some vehicles it don't, meters better with windows down? Jessica
Then why do you meter louder with the window up on the meter side? But in some vehicles it don't, meters better with windows down? Now you are talking about cabin shape and standing waves. Thats getting deep bro. Generally speaking though, to the ear its louder, but to the meter it may be different.
