toadking90
i got the go ahead from the boss(wife) that i can throw some new subs in my truck. i have a box made for two 15s that is nicely built so i will be keeping it. now my prob is subs... amp i am running is a hifonics Brutus 1700. so whatever i get needs to be dual 4 ohm so i can drop em down to 1. i originally wanted to try the dc subs since Ive never heard of them besides on here and they seem to be well. but the level 3s have jumped in price since the remodel... and i don't want to spend 300$ if i can help it. the ones i am eyeballing now are the massive audio toros. sonic has them for 250 which is a nice price. if anyone has any other suggestions i am all ears. but do keep in mind the 1700 watt limit and 250 price range and i do have a dd-1... so i am not planning on having a cookout in my truck thanks...jon
john253a
Don't stress about the amp, That only 30% of the equations, They ither 70% is the box, List all the specs of your box, And most important is the cutout, as you can go bigger but not smaller, What do you want to achive, Spl, sq mix? There are a tonn of good get loud sq brands out there under 300 a piece Look at Fi Sundown Skar Orbison DD The list is endless But it will all come down to box My option is choise the sub that best suits your box, Or build another box to suit your new sub And what do you have now? ToneDeaf2012
You could run 2 AQ hdc3 15's. Just remember that you can drop down in size if you have the room to add another baffle and cut it down to 12. The 15's would work out for the amp you have and priced under $300 each. john253a
afre you able to post a pick and list the port size, a lot of kicker stuff doesn't require a large port, compared to some of the other stuff on the market today, but for a daily loud set up idd look at the sa15 or fibl of fiq my option if price is big sa15 will do the job and sound good and loud doing it but i love the sound of the fiq and i think its a top line sq sub but again 300+ each
Jessica
Since i own a pair of sa-12's running off a skar1500.1 @ 1 ohm, i can tell you that they get loud. I don't know what you've owned before but i find it unlikely you would be disappointed with the sa-15's Rest in peace, walled 87 accord build log 03' Corolla build with AA Mayhem inside.
