BassJunkie
As some of you know I'm trying to sell my ATV on craigslist. I have been contacted by a lady a few times and after sending a few pics, she wants to mail me a check.. should I go for it? I'm just kinda cautious because if I were subject to fraud that would pretty much ruin my life (in my eyes atleast), I wouldn't be able to buy a car and would be out quite a sum of money. here is her email to me Thank you for your prompt and timely response.Well i guess amsatisfied with the condition has you stated. I really appreciate to hearing that is in perfect condition. I would have love to come but busy schedule and business obligation would not permit me,Anyway concerning the payment & pick up. I will mail you the check for the item.I will kindly want you to provide me with the following information to issue the payment: Full name: Mailing address: Phone number: I will be looking forward to hearing from you ASAP. Thank you for your humble gesture. My Regards ruth What should I put as my reply? I don't want to shooo her away if its a real buyer, but then again I don't wanna be shammied. Torres
yes certified is much safer. the thing that concerns me is the grammar in that e-mail. and there's always a reason they cant meet in person. if it were me...i'd be VEERRRY skeptical of this one
BassJunkie
why can tshe send you a certified money order? then your safe Should I just tell her I will only accept a certified money order? But I mean if she's too busy who's gonna pick it up? Maybe her husband? But why not just have her husband pay for it when he picks it up? Thats what i find weird Quote 1986 C20 Suburban 9 American Bass XFL 15's B2 M1MKII 14v XS Power Batteries Maxwell Caps Acoustical energy is free. Torres
if she's too busy does she really need to be buying this in the first place?

Send me a bogus check, send some randomer to pick up the atv and dissapear and never see them or the bike again. pstone11
I had almost the exact reply to some stuff that I was selling locally down here. Business trip and all. I would tell her that she could wire you some cash to hold it until she got back from her trip. Most likely a scam. Sorry I'm a nub when it comes to money transferring in sums of over $20 lol Quote 1986 C20 Suburban 9 American Bass XFL 15's B2 M1MKII 14v XS Power Batteries Maxwell Caps Acoustical energy is free. Torres
yeah. craigslist seems so uneasy to me. only way i'd ever sell anything or buy anything is if they meet in person and do cash right there. always ways around sending mail/electronic payments. sure it's not ALL a scam, lots of good deals and stuff, but i feel safer with ebay
Torres
he might mean like through western union. i think they gotta actually pay them up front, so that way the cash you get is legit
