Upgrading power wires. Come in and give your opinion.

Edit: (i'm just going to recycle this thread rather than start a new one)

It's been asked before, but every setup is different, so here goes.

Ok, looking at my setup, I am going to just get a 50' spool of KNU cca. Run 2 runs of + front to back and upgrade my grounds, charge wire, etc. I think that should cover what I need.

What do you guys think?

Like i said before 180a alt is probably the best i can do, maybe a 220 if that one vendor can decide if they make it or not, lol.

Read this stuff below for more info and stuff.

Alright, I'll give a quick system rundown first.

1 skar 1500.1 @ 1ohm

1 64X4 @ 4om

1 110X2 @ 2ohm (110x2 is rated @ 2ohm)

Carputer (about 15 amps tops)

H/u (only using pre-outs) 5amps?

Fosgate Symmery (probably 5-10 amps)

+ the car

2 led-acid batteries 800cca in the front and a 850cca in the back, i honestly don't know the AH on these.

Ok, so that said, I am planning on getting 3 deka intimiators to replace what i have.

Would a 180 amp alt be enough electrical for what I am running?

( i figure worst case scenario i would draw 300+ amps, but musically i don't see that happening. I don't drive around listening to tones and chopped and screwed stuff)

180 amp alt should be fine for what you're running, and replacing all those lead acids with Deka's will be a big plus as well.

A voltmeter would be useful as well to make sure your voltage is holding up well if you don't have one already.

I do have a volt meter, it's pretty fast as far as volt meters go. Going to try to nab a VM-1 when they come out.

I could get a 220, but i have two different emails from that vendor. One saying they don't make an alt for my car, and one with quotes for two different alts. The 220 really isnt in the budget anyway and it's $0.25 / amp more expensive anyway. I have to be realistic here and keep the budget down so i am going with the 180. Thanks for the replies!

CCA 1/0 ??? if so that will work for what you want to run, I couldn't see you pulling more then 250 amps full tilt everything on.
