MrBassHit
Okay so in the near future I'm getting 2 12" DD 1500 My friend has the same subs built to 2.5 cu ft per sub. Now my question is how are slot ports counted. Do their dimension add on to the box size after volume is reached? I've never built a ported box so as much help would be great. Also I'm thinking on a design like meade's. subs fire up and port fire forward. Going in the back seat of a 2000 f150 extended cab Be very afraid when the BASS drops! stroupe79
he gave you the link to Torres...that explains alot about building a ported box....if you haven't built a ported box you might want to get somebody to design a box for you, quite a few guys on here would probably help you out, they would need your maximum dimensions, subs and power you plan on using... http://www.stevemead...cherokee-build/ 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Alpine CDE-hd148bt Alpine PKG-RSE2 PRV Audio (4) 6MB200 front/rear doors PRV Audio (4) TW350Ti dash/rear doors Kicker KX350.4 Obsidian Audio (1) 18 D4 v2 revamp (2) Stereo Integrity HT 18d2DC Audio 1.2k5.25ft^3 tuned @34hz revamp Infinite Baffle Cpillar AudioTechnix 60mil deadenerKnuKonceptz & SkyHigh wire (complete setup)
Steve Lehman
your box size is after all displacements, port, sub, bracing etc, your box might come out to 4cu ft external dimensions but due to the space the port and everything else takes up might bring you down to 2.5 for the speaker

Designing isn't too much the issue. Just didn't know if port was part of total airspace or if in addition, Thanks again Be very afraid when the BASS drops!
