HunterJohnson
I've been looking to purchase a drill press floor model under $200 I also want a solid unit that will last a life time, is sturdy and will cut through aluminum if I want to make distribution blocks or something. I found a couple on CL what do you guys think and what experience do you have with brands. 79 cutty
Just my personal experience, but I have had my craftsmen for years, still works like the day I bought it! Just asking, but are you set on a floor model? I wanted a floor one, but sucked it up and bought a brand new table top unit for what I was going to spend on a used floor model, and I have been perfectly happy with it! Firm believer in letting my cars do my talking! You can't rush quality, it doesn't happen overnight. Quality takes time and dedication, but the end results more than pay for it. pstone11
Out of the two you posted, the craftsman looks a bit better. The only thing you want to make sure you look for is at least a 1/2" chuck with a table that swings, and tilts as well as does the standard up and down stuff. I have owned some benchtop models but the freestanding types are wonderful and worth the exra cash if you have the room.
