Cobb
Thats fine if I need 86 the 2nd sub too with the amp. Ill make 2 boxes, the other for my sidekick. It has a 50 amp alternator, so Ive been conservative more with that vehicle than the honda since its "alternator" is solid state. I am assuming the box would be about 9 inches tall or so. Id like the sub and port to exit the same side. I find the out facing the hatch makes for better sound distribution too. Thanks again for your help. 2010 Honda Insight Eco Modded + PHEV 1995 Suzuki Sidekick 4wd 5 speed LJX

Cobb
This looks neat, but I am of the understanding the use of poly fill means the box isnt big enough. Ive found poly fill in all the boxes Ive had makes they sound better, hit harder. pic: 2010 Honda Insight Eco Modded + PHEV 1995 Suzuki Sidekick 4wd 5 speed LJX
soBASED
When I said .66ft^3, that was with one sub. 2 cubes on that alpine seems a little too much for them. I'd say stay around 1.10-1.5ft^3 ported.. If you're tight on space, look into aero ports so your box can be a lil smaller and you can have adjustable tuning Car:- 2013 Honda Accord Sport 6MT - aFe SRI Electrical: - Big 3 w/ Execution Audio 0/1 AWG OFC- Stock Battery Audio: - JBL Power Series 6.5 Comps up front (Running off HU power atm) - JBL Power Series 2-Ways in the rear deck (Running off HU power atm) Subwoofer: - Sundown Audio X-15 - CT Sounds AT1400.1D (@1 ohm) Bedroom: - Yamaha RX-V365 - Pair of Klipsch KG4.2's - 2 E8v3's in a 1.34ft^3 tuned to 30hz - No Amp yet.. - CoolMax ZU900B PSU for amp In my room & previous car:- Amp: Soundstream TX1.1300D @ 4 ohms (520 watts)- T-Line Enclosure tuned to 32hzYouTube : http://www.youtube.c...r8?feature=mhee
Cobb
john253a design is fine for me dimensions wise. I didnt know it would only be 14 deep. In that case we can go wider than the 34 inch. I got a rear strut brace that cuts kind of low across the back right behind the rear seat. soBASED, you saying his design is better for 1 sub? Thats fine too, Id make 2 boxes and put the other in the zuke. Im going to home depot tomorrow to get a sheet of 3/4 mdf. 2010 Honda Insight Eco Modded + PHEV 1995 Suzuki Sidekick 4wd 5 speed LJX
Cobb
10 inch deep 37 wide to go behind the strut bar. Yeah, had tanabe nf springs, driver rear sagged too much and started to creek going around corners. Got a strut bar in the back thinking it was flexing, It was difficult to install as the rear was flexed. Ended up replacing the springs with dfs. The bar is easily scratched so I swapped it in newspaper. 2010 Honda Insight Eco Modded + PHEV 1995 Suzuki Sidekick 4wd 5 speed LJX

Sorry I was not clear, I was not referring to john253a design, I haven't really took a good look at it. I was just saying in general. What does that alpine amp put out at 2ohms? Get 3/4 plywood, sooooo much lighter and its stronger. I made a box for 2 12s out of MDF, double baffled, never doing that again. The box itself weighed 66lbs, so heavy. Plywood is the way to do it! Cobb
400watts? http://www.crutchfield.com/S-ApXfz6Gq7s1/p_500MRPM450/Alpine-MRP-M450.html Since rms is 200 and peak is 800, I assumed anything in between was fine if I didnt leave it on for a while. I dont think the wattage specs are right, if anything Id say its double what its listed at. I can run 1 amp, save the other for the zuke. I tried plywood, mdf sounds better. 2010 Honda Insight Eco Modded + PHEV 1995 Suzuki Sidekick 4wd 5 speed LJX
