YukonDCXL
Hey guys, need some quick help. I am building a box for my friend and it is going in his f250, the box will be going on the floor board in the back and back seat riders will actually be putting their feet on top of the box so the subs will be on the bottom firing towards the floor board. long story why we are doing it this way but this is what he wanted. I have the box built but want to port using a pvc pipe and will replace that with aero port when he orders it. can some one tell me what size pvc and how long to tune this box to somewhere around 40hz? The box is 9 3/8 Tall 13 Wide 56 1/2 Long built with 3/4 MDF. 2 mtx thunder 5500 10's are going in it
YukonDCXL
The box has gross volume of 2.9 cubic feet so would a 3inch pvc pipe two inches long be correct?

YukonDCXL
Two 4"s. Really? how long?. I finally got torres to work and it said a 3inch 2" long would tune to 40hz
Joe X
Well, port cross-sectional area needs to be large enough for port noise not to occur, a single 3" happens not to be enough port area, enter all the box data on Torres and increase the ports length till you get your wanted tuning.
