YukonDCXL
So this thing after it is set up correct will since distortion? Let say my gains are set and my deck does not distort so volume all the way up and I play a song that is clipped or bass boosted then this will let me know I am distorting? audiofanaticz
Yes, but only if you set it up using your DD-1 or DD-1+ so that the red led illuminates when the distortion light turns on with the DD-1 / DD-1+ meters.

YukonDCXL
Steve shows calibrating by turning the deck into distortion so if your deck does not distort then you would just turn gain on amp into distortion to calibrate? audiofanaticz
you set it up just like an amp with a dd-1 but instead of turning the gain on the amp, you turn the little knob on the back of the om-1 headunit volume is irrelevant as long as its not clipping. if its distortion free at max volume, than turn it up to max volume, or max unclipped volume. The device works off your amplifier not your headunit.
