bman8891
I just pulled out my 2512's at 1 ohm nominal and dropped in 2 xl12's at .5 ohm nominal on a saz 3500d. I assumed since I would be drawing more power I would see more voltage drop but surprisingly its just the opposite. With the dd's I went from 14.1 - 12.0 and with the new subs its 14.1- 13.1. Stock alt 2 d6500's. Any ideas why this is? Will it drop more once the subs break in? Maybe I was hardcore clipping with the dd's?
_paralyzed_
They're different subs. You have a different outcome because something is different. It's not an apples to apples comparison.Obviously the 2512's at 1 ohm are a greater load than xl12's at .5 ohm.Clipping like hell could cause he greater load too like you mentioned, but it isn't likely the subs would have survived that. _paralyzed_
A different song could cause a different load...Unless all variables are identical it's hard to compare 2 things.
bman8891
Same songs and I suppose you're right its apples to oranges with subs I was just surprised by the dc's. They get louder with using less voltage.
