Subwoofer cut-out

The cutout is easy to figure out, just put a strip of wood on each side of the sub, and when you have the same measurement on both sides between the sticks you have what you need.

Or if you have a big carpenters square, set it to the sub, look at where it makes contact with the sub, and multiply that measurement by two.

As for the rest of the post, are you trying to compare a design you already have or are you fishing for a free design?

Quick trick that I just learned recently too Hugh, which I'm sure doesn't work in EVERY case but it's worked out on all I've tested on is this:

Measure the surround across the diameter. Edge to edge should be nearly exact to what your cutout should be.
