Sub box being built

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone looking for your advice. I have 2 audiopipe txx-bdc4-12s I'm having a box built and would like to know if subs up and port firing thru my center opening in my rear seat will sound good. Never done a upward facing subs at my trunk lid with the port firing forward into my interior.

4.22 box

.28 subs

.88 port

5.38 total cubic feet

Slot port facing front of the car into the interior 2.25 x 20 tuned to 32hz

16.5 tall, 32 wide 21.5 deep

Please let me know everyone's thoughts. Amp is a d4s jp95. Have great voltage and will be running the subs at 1ohm. This is in a 08 acura rl also.

Sorry for the long post just tried to include everything that you guys might need to know. Please let me know your thoughts.

Subs up in a trunk car leads to excessive , hard to control rattling, port through the ski hole leads to you listening mostly the port.

For your vehicle, posts / subs back and opening up the rear deck should be best, still your own tests will tell you what you prefer.

Ok. Yea that is exactly what I was wondering about the rattle. I already have two layers of deadening on the trunk lid and one in the rest of the trunk. Then would be best to try and aim the port to the rear along with the subs

Yes, also opening up your rear deck and also your box should leave space on top or sides to help sound pressure come inside the car cabin.
