trainman0978
the laminate router, or "palm router" as they are often called are great little tools. Good for doing roundovers, cove bits, and of course laminates and such as the guy mentioned above.... One thing is for sure, a wood worker can never have enough routers... A guy I work with has five of them. One in a router table, a fixed base, two plunge routers, and a palm router. I say you got your self one heck of a deal. 2007 Toyota FJ Cruiser Voo Doo Blue my upgrades and "build" thread. 01xtreme
I bought a skill 1825 router with the fixed and plunge router bases. it works perfect for me, and im pretty sure anyone who is only going to use it every now and then. If it is a tool you are going to have to rely on all the time I would go with something like the craftsman dave mentioned, or a higher end bosch, or something like that. I found mine for 89 bucks at lowes, so i picked it up, and it is a pretty damn good router, even if it feel a little cheap (plastic case, and the lock to hold the bases on sometimes comes undone). V1G1LANT3
So would a plunge router be more useful than the others for general use. Like for round overs..flush trim..cutting sub holes..etc.
Lucas702
man, been missin out, I got my Craftsman radial arm saw at a garage sale for $100 for a $700 saw, about 15 years old, but perfect condition, and endless in uses I would just kill it and bring it to sears for a brand new one.
