Rainman215 Posted June 19, 2009 Report Share Posted June 19, 2009 How big of an alternator would I need for 2 DC lvl 4 15s on like a RF t3000/4000 Amp and then like 800 Watts for the mids/highs ... im getting ready to buy an alternator but just need to know how big of one do i need ... and is there a easy way to find th engine to ground wire for the big 3? ive got 1 wire going from the battery to the frame and then one going from the battery to some part of the motor? I guess i shoulda asked my dad while i was at his shop ... but i took a pic ... the threads on the wire are bare with no jacket ... and some have stripped out of the lug ... micahmye Posted June 19, 2009 Report Share Posted June 19, 2009 I had a 300 amp from Excessive Amperage with two d3100's and a S975 in my 03 accord and 5kw rms on two DC LVL5 18's and I was still dimming just like James. I wasn't dropping to eleven volts but down to about 12.3.
