Fiberglassing my pillars

Recommended Posts

Here's what I'm working with.

I need to make custom pillars for 2 sets of twetwers (2 tweets per pillar).

So to make these, I mask the originals with tape, and fiberglass and resin the mould to get the mould I need correct? Then after that I'll fiberglass the inside of the one I just made for an exact copy of my originals? Is it that easy? Also, what liquid do I use to harden the cloth to attach fiberglass to? I'm a little new to this so be easy please... lol. The whole goal of this is to make custom pillars and keep my factory ones incase I need to revert to stock. I know I wont be able to use the clips after, so what do you suggest I do to mount after?

These are stock pillars in my 97 accord lol. I want to keep my originals incase I need to revert to stock for any reason. And I'm trying to make it so I get an exact replica of the stock ones. That's why I'm asking do I mold the stock ones to get a imprint, then glass the inside of the first mould to get the replicas?

find a spare set and go nuts brotha. the outcome would make you happier IMO. then you would still be able to get the factory look back no prob. not sure how many pics i have in my build but check em out if ya wanna. i did build them twice since the first time just didnt work for me, but the second time around turned out pretty good i think

ya use the pillar itself to build off of. drill a few holes through the plastic so the resin holds better.
