07 TBSS Fi Team 18's B-Walled 4th

Recommended Posts

That sucks man.

Planning on walling it now...

C pilar maybe, I need by back seats :ehh: Should wall the Caddy! :D

Damn that sucks man I'm about to run my wires under my truck maybe this weekend what u suggest covering them in?

My other 4 runs are fine, just crappy luck. Even if they would have been in loom my exhaust would have smoked them. I just run it under the truck, but maybe for daily that isn't the greatest idea with 8 runs.

I'm more than likely going to do PVC if I can find the room.

Why would you throw out all that wire if only about 2 ft of it is bad? Seems like a really big waste

when you ground out a wire about 50% of the time i'd say the entire wire becomes corroded or useless, i guess it depends on how long it grounds out, i've seen it from 6 inches to 20 feet before

It's way more than 2 ft, I was just using the can for storage (we don't use that can for trash just barrels). All in all 7ft +/- a wire is screwed, but that means I have 13ft or less runs of 1/0 I can't use as I need 20ft. Either which way I need another 50-60ft to replace it.

That wire will just go in the pile of other crap I need to sell. :pardon:

So my buddy came over to help me yank out the box and shit and um I kind of had an accident which is later in the pix...

Subs out of the box

What's left of the grounds (plugs the holes)

No this picture isn't out of order... Notice the subs in the box

One of the perks of having 8 1/0 runs is that when you trash 3 runs you still have 5! I wound up using a power for ground up to the front so 2 runs are live now (1 power 1 ground) and fused... Ground fuse FTMFW! ;)

Side note, I got this thing for 100 that's it... One of the best 100 spots I've spent got this box in and out beyond easy mode (subs in).

So atleast I have a system for the winter, nothing fancy just one XXX at 2ohms. Not the first time I've been here either but it still does a 47-48 at 28hz on 2kw :clapping:

Damn man I remember seeing some of these pics on Trailvoy, but yesterday I actually went and read through this whole log. WHY DOES YOUR CAR HATE YOU SO MUCH? Man I gotta say I never had any problems with my charging system, I have 2 1/0 runs front to back but my rear batteries are grounded to the chassis. Big 3 doubled up in 1/0 and I don't have the ECU charging issues like you do. I see about 15 on a fresh start, and anywhere from 13.6-14.0 after that while idle and driving. My battery light comes on sometimes but my voltage is still normal.

it must just be a TBSS issue, pretty much everyone i have seen build in one has had a terrible experience.

I do have one question, where are you grounding your amps/batts in the rear?

i have mine on the seat bolt and scraped the ground... even with 2 batteries and a 250h.o alt i still dip into the 9's sometimes. I dont understand why i have had so many problems with the tbss.

Into the 9's? Holy shit. I drilled a hole in the trunk and super glued a bolt / washer from the underside of the car, and sanded flat the area around it.

I mean it's an Envoy Denali, not a TBSS but same difference.

Edit: Oh forgot to add, 2 D3100's in the back are connected in parallel obviously, and 2nd battery has double ground runs to that bolt. Amps are grounded to the batteries.
