Ahh sorry ed didn;t see your comment. Skipped over it somehow. So I need one of these clamp on ammeters as well as my dmm to get the wattage? I'm still confused on where you're saying to put the ammeter. The dmm goes to the speaker outputs, and the other goes around the speaker wire?

Yep, you need your standard DMM, and you also need a clamp on meter. And the clamp goes around 1 of the speaker wires. Usually I just clamp around the Positive right out of the amplifier

Ahhh Ok gotcha. So the Dmm goes to the terminals, set to read the volts, and the ammeter goes around, say the + wire output, and its set on ac amps. Take those 2 and times by eachother to get watts? How do I know where to set my gain to before testing? Thanks a bunch ed.

starting to all make sence now :)
