Boon
Ok time for another traditional Boon rant... If you don't know EXACTLY what IMPEDANCE RISE is, and how it works, STOP FUCKING SUGGESTING IT WILL MAKE THINGS OK. Every second thread I see on here people are talking about 'box rise' and you can tell from the context that they're just using a buzz-word and have no idea what the hell they're talking about. People talk about it like it's a constant - IT'S NOT Talking about measuring it with a DMM - YOU CAN'T Talking about DC resistance (i.e. oh use bigger wire/bolts for less box rise!) - IDIOTS. It just pisses me off when people give bunk advice when clearly they don't even know what they're talking about themselves. Last of all, in before "u mad?" 10.x volts fo' life! ChampN252
Hell, I'm still getting a hold on it now. I want to learn what you can do to try to control it. An early thread really explained it for me. 2012 Honda Accord Radio: Pioneer AVH-4200NEX

memphisBred
It definitely is used a lot on here. Especially when someone asks if his sub can handle double the rated power, followed by "you'll be fine after box rise, because your amp won't see that power". It seems like when wired to 1 ohm, that your rise will come out to a perfect 4 ohms. That's what I've gathered from similar topics lately. Also...I'm going to get an amp that does 19k at 1 ohms and 3000 at 4 ohms for my XL's daily, (as I type this). finkster
Even of there is rise, for daily technically that is a GOOD thing (at least the amplifier seems to think so). But I definitely hear where you're coming from, suggesting that box rise will make wiring at lower impedences ok is flat out retarded.
