PURCHASING O-SCOPE -- difference in Oscilloscopes???

Recommended Posts

ok im in the middle of my suburban rebuild and id like to set all the gains on my amps the proper way.. (not by my ear as usual lol) and the fact that id rather not burn down 3 DC 5ks and 9 15" subs lol.... i figured a scope is prob cheaper than having to replace all blown equip!! so anyways off to the questions im wondering if theres a big difference in the scopes (as in reliable readings!) the main scope im looking into is the

-Velleman PPS10 iv watched pleanty of videos on youtube about it and it seems ok for the money...

but i noticed a lot of people like the

-TPI scope 440 plus (like steves videos)

my question is the TPI rly worth ovr $200 more dollars?? any help would be greatly appreceated!!! :drinks:

thanks guys

blake

btw im looking to buy today or tomorrow if i can just get some feedback

i pulled out my dick in class many of times and had it shown. get over it bitch...stupid open legged hairy beavered bitch...

going over rms = smaller box, under rms = bigger box...

Low voltage doesn't blow amps. That's a myth.

A router that does the sub holes makes rounded edges also?

I think any handheld O-scope will do just fine, it's not like you're using it to repair/construct circuit boards, a handheld will be more than plenty for detecting clipping on amps.

Some of the cheapy handhelds can't take much on the input. Also those USB ones you hook up to a computer - a lot of them are only good to ~50vac which is like 2500wrms... so no good at all for big systems.

True, it also depends how the coils are wired too. I have a similar model Velleman oscope that trulywicked has posted and @ .5ohms pushing 4kw my amp puts out 44.7 volts.
