trulywickedcustoms
ok im in the middle of my suburban rebuild and id like to set all the gains on my amps the proper way.. (not by my ear as usual lol) and the fact that id rather not burn down 3 DC 5ks and 9 15" subs lol.... i figured a scope is prob cheaper than having to replace all blown equip!! so anyways off to the questions im wondering if theres a big difference in the scopes (as in reliable readings!) the main scope im looking into is the -Velleman PPS10 iv watched pleanty of videos on youtube about it and it seems ok for the money... but i noticed a lot of people like the -TPI scope 440 plus (like steves videos) my question is the TPI rly worth ovr $200 more dollars?? any help would be greatly appreceated!!! thanks guys blake btw im looking to buy today or tomorrow if i can just get some feedback *2013 NEW BUILD* 12- 18" Crossfire XS v2's B pillar 4th order wall 4- Crossfire 8K mono blocks 40+ pro audio mids tweeters and horns 3- Singer alternator 400a external regulated alts tons of audiotechnix wire 24- XS Power D1400's -TEAM XS POWER- -TEAM CROSSFIRE- -TDH-
bumonskateboard6
Get it from Testextra, I got one and love it! http://www.testextra.com/tpi/pages/tpi_440_1mhz_handheld_oscilloscope_true_rms_dmm.htm Current Systems: 2011 BMW 335i Hertz HDP1 DC LVL3 12" Full Carbon Fiber 2002 Acura TlKenwood DNX9980HD2 DCLVL4 12" Subs with LVL5 Parts D.7 CoilsDC 3.5kHertz HSK-165 up front HCX-165 RearHertz HDP4 AmpDC Power Engineering 260 Amp AltBig 3 and amp powered with KNU 1/0XS Power D2400 Up Front i pulled out my dick in class many of times and had it shown. get over it bitch...stupid open legged hairy beavered bitch... going over rms = smaller box, under rms = bigger box... Low voltage doesn't blow amps. That's a myth. A router that does the sub holes makes rounded edges also?

corona_jeff
I can say TPI tech/repair it great. I had a dumbass friend drop mine, and it was out of warranty cause I bought used. They had no problems fixing for free and covering shipping too.
Garr Bear
I think any handheld O-scope will do just fine, it's not like you're using it to repair/construct circuit boards, a handheld will be more than plenty for detecting clipping on amps. 1995 GMC Jimmy 4dr DC Power 320 amp hairpin alt 2 12" RD Alpha V2s w/ PSI softparts Soundstream XXX6500D RE XXX 6.5 mids and Polk Coaxes MBQ DSC4125 2 1/0 runs 2 DD 2515s Starting new build soon, building two frankenwoofers with the 2515s and Alpha V2s. Some of the cheapy handhelds can't take much on the input. Also those USB ones you hook up to a computer - a lot of them are only good to ~50vac which is like 2500wrms... so no good at all for big systems. 10.x volts fo' life! Garr Bear
True, it also depends how the coils are wired too. I have a similar model Velleman oscope that trulywicked has posted and @ .5ohms pushing 4kw my amp puts out 44.7 volts. 1995 GMC Jimmy 4dr DC Power 320 amp hairpin alt 2 12" RD Alpha V2s w/ PSI softparts Soundstream XXX6500D RE XXX 6.5 mids and Polk Coaxes MBQ DSC4125 2 1/0 runs 2 DD 2515s Starting new build soon, building two frankenwoofers with the 2515s and Alpha V2s.
